Model 1839 U.S. Belt Plate was excavated at "Salienta 2nd Corp" position Spotsylvania, Virginia by William "Bill" Gavin.  The Belt Plate was found by Bill Gavin on November 21, 1953.  Letter of Authenticity from previous owners accompanies the artifact.
