Model 1839 Cartridge Box Plate.  Artifact was excavated by William "Bill" Gavin in August of 1952.  The box plate was recovered in a Confederate trenches, Ewell's Corps, Spotsylvania County, Virginia.  Letter of Authenticity from previous owners accompanies the artifact.
